Product Overview
F. Ball Stopgap F78 is a rapid-drying, one-component waterproof surface membrane designed to control residual construction moisture before floorcovering installation.
Unlike two-part epoxy moisture systems, Stopgap F78 is supplied ready to use with no mixing required, making it simple and efficient for fast-track flooring projects.
Applied in two coats, it impedes the passage of construction moisture where relative humidity values are up to 95% RH, helping protect adhesives, smoothing compounds, and floorcoverings from moisture-related failure.
Stopgap F78 is pigmented blue to help installers visually check coverage uniformity and achieve a continuous membrane across the floor.

Installation Notes
- Apply to clean, absorbent, and properly prepared substrates
- Remove surface contaminants, hardeners, laitance, and weak material before application
- Substrate surface strength should be greater than 1.5 N/mm²
- Power floated concrete must be mechanically prepared
- Bases must contain a structural damp proof membrane
- Shake container immediately before use
- Apply a minimum of two coats using a paint roller
- Apply the second coat at right angles to the first coat
- Maintain coverage rate of 3.3m²/kg as a two-coat application
- Apply suitable Stopgap smoothing compound within 12 hours of membrane curing
- Do not prime Stopgap F78 with Stopgap P131 or P141
- Not suitable for subfloors with underfloor heating
