Polivac Diamabrush Mastic Removal Tool
Description
Product Overview
The Polivac Diamabrush Mastic Removal Tool is a rotary floor preparation attachment designed to strip adhesive residues and existing coatings from concrete floors.
Its diamond-coated blades mechanically remove materials such as mastic, carpet adhesive, tile adhesive, thin-set residue and thin-film coatings. This makes it useful when refurbishing concrete after existing floorcoverings have been removed.
The blade arrangement helps resist clogging and abrasive build-up during removal. Worn blades can be replaced, allowing the main tool assembly to remain in service.
The tool operates through a compatible floor machine. Select the correct mounting system for the machine being used, as Polivac documents both clutch and quick-release versions.
Key Features
- Designed for adhesive and coating removal from concrete
- 25-grit diamond abrasive blades
- Removes mastic and flooring adhesive residues
- Suitable for thin-set residue and thin-film epoxy removal
- Blade design helps resist clogging during use
- Replaceable blades extend the service life of the tool assembly
- Mechanical removal without chemical stripping agents
- Fits compatible rotary floor equipment with the correct mounting assembly
Applications
- Removing carpet adhesive from concrete subfloors
- Removing mastic and tile adhesive residues
- Removing thin-set residue from concrete
- Stripping thin-film epoxy coatings
- Removing thin paint and urethane coatings
- Concrete refurbishment before further surface preparation or resurfacing
Notes
- Confirm the tool size, mounting arrangement and operating requirements match the floor machine before fitting
- Disconnect the machine from its power supply before installing the attachment or replacing blades
- Identify the existing coating or adhesive before removal and follow any required hazardous-material controls
- Inspect the blades and mounting assembly before use
- Test a small area to assess removal performance and the resulting concrete finish
- Begin on a cleared, flat section of concrete and work gradually into the coated area
- Use controlled side-to-side passes; keeping part of the tool on cleared concrete can improve stability
- Wet operation can reduce airborne dust and improve blade life, but only use water with a machine and setup approved for wet work
- For dry operation, use suitable dust extraction and the protective equipment required for the material being removed
- Collect debris or slurry and assess whether further preparation is required before applying the next flooring system
- Follow the tool and machine instructions for blade replacement, cleaning and storage
