PRODUCT OVERVIEW

RLA TruLevel Lightweight

Description

Product Overview

RLA TruLevel Lightweight is a rapid-drying floor levelling compound designed for projects where the weight of preparation materials is an important consideration.

Its low-density formulation provides improved yield and coverage compared with conventional self-levelling compounds, helping reduce the weight of material used when correcting uneven internal floors.

The compound flows to create a smooth, even underlayment beneath carpet, vinyl, linoleum, floating floors, timber flooring and ceramic tiles. It is also suitable for levelling over underfloor heating systems.

TruLevel Lightweight can be applied manually or using a suitable mixing pump. Under the stated conditions, it accepts foot traffic after approximately 2–3 hours and adhesively fixed floorcoverings from approximately 18 hours.

Key Features

  • Up to 40% lighter than conventional cement-based self-levelling compounds
  • Application thickness from 1–80mm in one layer
  • Good flow for a smooth, even finish
  • Improved yield and coverage compared with conventional levellers
  • Walkable after approximately 2–3 hours at 23°C
  • Ready for floorcoverings from approximately 18 hours at 23°C
  • Suitable for manual and pump application
  • Suitable for levelling over underfloor heating systems
  • EC1 Plus emission classification stated in the TDS
  • RCS compliant formulation as declared by RLA
  • Internal use only

Applications

  • Levelling new and existing internal concrete floors
  • Floor preparation where material weight is a key consideration
  • Correcting floor level differences before floorcovering installation
  • Preparation beneath carpet, vinyl and linoleum
  • Preparation beneath floating floors and timber flooring
  • Preparation beneath ceramic tiles
  • Levelling over underfloor heating systems
  • Suitable prepared non-absorbent substrates, following the specified priming procedure

Notes

  • Ensure substrates are sound, clean and dry, with contaminants and weak material removed
  • Mechanically prepare concrete where required and vacuum thoroughly
  • Do not use solvents or acid etching for preparation
  • New concrete must be at least 14 days old
  • Maintain a minimum subfloor temperature of 10°C before installation
  • Check concrete moisture and pH in accordance with the relevant flooring installation requirements
  • Obtain RLA advice where elevated moisture requires treatment with RLA Moisture Seal
  • Do not apply over substrates affected by rising damp
  • Prime porous substrates with RLA Universal Primer diluted one part primer to two parts clean water
  • Highly absorbent substrates may require a second primer coat
  • Use RLA Universal Primer undiluted on suitable non-porous substrates
  • Allow non-porous substrate primer to form a tack-free transparent film, approximately 2 hours at 23°C
  • Confirm the correct water addition for the supplied bag size with RLA before mixing
  • Mechanically mix with a suitable paddle for approximately 3 minutes until uniform and lump-free
  • Do not hand mix or overwater
  • Spread over the primed substrate using a gauge rake, stand-up spreader or suitable trowel
  • Use an appropriate mixing pump for pumped installations
  • Over ceramic tiles and other non-absorbent substrates, follow the recommended minimum 3–4mm coating thickness where water-based adhesives will be used
  • Preserve expansion joints through the installation
  • Protect the compound from water during and after curing
  • Clean tools immediately with water

TruLevel Lightweight is an underlayment for subsequent floorcoverings. Its reduced density is particularly relevant where the weight of floor preparation materials needs to be considered.

The product is not suitable over particleboard or strip timber flooring. It must not bridge expansion joints or be exposed to water during or after curing.

Published setting and floorcovering installation times depend on temperature and humidity. Confirm readiness against the requirements of the selected floorcovering and adhesive system.

RLA declares the product RCS compliant, with the respirable crystalline silica fraction below 0.1%. Follow the product SDS for handling and protective measures.

Store unopened packaging in a dry area at room temperature, away from cold floors and direct sunlight.
